Can Attitude Affect Your Health
Can Attitude Affect Your Health
As the Director of BellaVita Lifestyle Center, I have seen many people suffering from all types of disease. Many diseases are caused by poor diets and wrong lifestyle habits. Toxicity and deficiency are also root causes of disease. But it wasn’t until I read the following statement that I began to understand how negative attitudes and emotions could seriously affect one’s health: “Sickness of the mind prevails everywhere. Nine-tenths of the diseases from which men suffer have their foundation here” (Mind, Character, and Personality, p. 59). Is it possible that ninety percent of all diseases are caused by negative attitudes and emotions? This booklet will open your eyes to the way the human mind can impact physical health.

Counsels on Diets & Foods
Counsels on Diets & Foods
Scripture commands, "Whether...ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). With this counsel as a cornerstone, the author offers inspired advice on an often neglected factor in religion: how to eat for optimum health. The compilers have included almost everything Ellen White wrote on such topics as vegetarianism, fasting, digestion, overeating, and the relationship of diet to spirituality. Ellen White's writings in the field of health have stood well the test of time and the advances of science. Generations of readers have found them to be a powerful aid in obtaining that self-control that promotes clearness of mind and purity of heart.

The Power of Prayer and Fasting
The Power of Prayer and Fasting
"Prayer and fasting are heaven’s dynamic duo against temptation!" In exploring fasting and prayer, Danny Vierra shares some amazing feats of mind, body, and spirit that are a result of abstaining from indulgences. Not only does today’s society suffer from chronic and fatal disease as a result of gluttony and taking in the wrong kinds of foods, but we also suffer from groggy thinking and foggy spiritual lives. In looking at the subjects of prayer and fasting in Scripture, we see the benefits of this “dynamic duo.” Moses communed with God on Mt. Sinai 40 days and nights, and he had to veil his face because it was so bright (Exodus 34:28). He also was resurrected and taken to heaven after his death (Jude 9). Elijah also fasted 40 days and nights (1 Kings 19:7, 8), and he was taken to heaven without seeing death (2 Kings 2:1). The only other person in Scripture to fast 40 days and nights was Jesus Christ Himself. Even though He was physically weakened by the ordeal, His mental and spiritual acuity was so sharp that He firmly withstood the barbs of the devil (Matthew 4:1–11). In today’s era we too can have enriching experiences from fasting and prayer. Biblical evidence is ample that refraining from excessiveness in our lives will be enhancing beyond measure. Should you choose to include these principles in your own life, you will gain strength to stand firm against temptation.

Preparation for the Coming Crisis
Preparation for the Coming Crisis
“Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. . . . But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:7, 8, 13 KJV) Do natural disasters that even The Washington Post reports are getting worse (September 15, 2011) and economic loss have anything to do with enduring to the end and salvation? What about nature’s laws (nutrition, exercise, temperance, sunshine, fresh air, rest, water, etc.) as they pertain to us on a personal level, do they impact our endurance to the end? Not only do these natural laws and how we observe them indicate whether we have strength and endurance to the end of time, but they will also be observed in the life to come—eternal life that is. Danny Vierra aptly shares that the book of Daniel candidly points out that eating the right foods, diligent contact with the Lord, and abstaining from injurious substances produces a vitality like none other—the vitality that brings about the endurance of a sanctified life.

Diet of a Most Simple Kind
Diet of a Most Simple Kind
Live to eat, or eat to live? Herein, you’ll find the gory details of what today’s food supply puts on the tables of many people. You’ll also find the much more pleasing features of the simplest of dietary fare. Danny Vierra highlights that modern nutritional science bears out what the Bible says is best for us to eat and not to eat. Biblical counsel stipulates that a plant-based food plan is best. It also lays out a diet that if one does partake of animal products, which kinds to take in safely and which ones are downright dangerous to healthy living. Science has also begun to show that God’s original plan of food in its natural state is still the most healthful—fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, and vegetables were added after sin began. Whereas, the animal products deemed unclean in the Bible are tainted with parasitic, bacterial, and viral infestations, even today. God’s plan has always been the best plan. He provided for us the “live” foods on which we can live more happily and healthfully, both now and for eternity. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches, paperback pocket book Pages: 32
